Check AvailabilityThis Metal Movers pack solves a problem every indoor construction fan runs into: there is nothing to dig. It pairs two die-cast vehicles, a bulldozer and a front loader, with a tub of Tonka Dirt — a compound that behaves like real spoil, piles up, holds a shape under a blade, and does not leave a trail through the house afterwards.
The two machines are the pushing and scooping half of a job site. The dozer shoves the pile into shape, the loader digs into it and lifts the material clear, and because the dirt behaves properly under both, the whole load-and-grade cycle works on a tabletop rather than requiring a sandbox and a change of clothes.
Both vehicles are die-cast and built to the Tonka Tough standard, which at this size means they are solid lumps of metal with working parts rather than hollow castings. They slot straight into the Metal Fleet scale, so they share a shelf and a car-carrier deck with the rest of the die-cast range.
The most-reviewed set in the die-cast line, and the one to choose when the play needs to happen indoors. A collector card is printed on the pack. Ages three and up.
Every truck in this catalogue follows the construction philosophy Tonka has used since 1947: metal in the load-bearing body, sturdy plastic in the detail work, and moving parts engineered to be operated by enthusiastic hands thousands of times. There are no batteries to die and no screens to crack. What wears in becomes character; what wears out is usually the owner, around age fourteen, right before the truck goes into storage for the next generation.
Outdoor play is what these machines are for. After sessions in wet sand or rain, rinse the truck with clean water and towel it dry — that keeps the steel body and axles smooth for decades. Avoid leaving it submerged or outside through winter. For collector-grade display models, an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth keeps decals and paint sharp. The full routine is in our Play & Care Guide.
