Tonka dump trucks
Six of the sixteen machines in the current Tonka range haul with a tipping bed. The standard Mighty Dump Truck is the one most families start with: sixteen inches of steel with a bed that raises, dumps and slams back down. Around it sit the redesigned Next Gen version, the double-steel Retro collector, the oversized Toughest, and two Giga two-packs that pair a compact hauler with a digging partner.
Which one to pick comes down to the operator. First steel truck at age three: the standard Mighty Dump. Biggest possible loads and a gasp at the unwrapping: the Toughest. Sandbox duty now, a display shelf later: the Retro. Small hands, travel bags or a two-kid household: either Giga pack.
How the beds differ
Every bed in this group tips on a steel hinge, but they are not the same bed. The standard and Next Gen beds are sized for indoor loads and sandbox rounds. The Toughest bed is the largest Tonka makes and swallows a beach bucket whole. The Giga beds are hand-sized: less capacity, but the full dig-and-haul cycle still works.
A dump truck rarely works alone
The load has to come from somewhere. A front loader or dozer feeding the bed doubles the play time of either machine, which is why the Giga packs ship as pairs out of the box, and why the loader is the most common second purchase after a Mighty Dump.
